Porter Services for Data Centers
Dust and packing debris have no place near a data hall. Porters keep security lobbies, offices, docks and unboxing rooms spotless, on a schedule set by your operations calendar.

Clean spaces around critical facilities.
Data centers never power down, and dust and packing debris are risks an operator wants kept far from the hall. Dominion Porter Services keeps the spaces people pass through clean, from the security lobby to the loading dock, with porters timed to your shifts and change windows.
From Santa Clara to Sacramento and Sparks, data centers in our area run around the clock.
Lobbies, security entries and offices.
The front of a data center is a working office: a security lobby with badge readers and mantraps, visitor check-in, offices, conference rooms, a break room and restrooms used by staff, contractors and customer technicians. Porters keep each one clean and stocked through the day, wiping glass and touchpoints at the security entry and keeping floors dry so dirt does not ride deeper into the building on shoes.
Customer areas such as staging rooms and lounges get their own pass, with surfaces wiped, trash removed, cardboard broken down and floors vacuumed.
Break rooms in a staffed data center see technicians at every hour. Porters clear counters, sinks and microwaves, empty bins and top up paper towels and soap on each pass, and restrooms get extra checks on days when install crews are in the building.
Loading docks, unboxing rooms and storage.
Equipment arrives in crates and cardboard, and packing debris is a major source of dust in many facilities. Porters keep the receiving dock, unboxing room and storage cages swept, and they break down cardboard and haul it out before it can travel toward the hall. Our garage and dock porter route keeps the dock apron and parking areas clear as well.
Walk-off mats and tacky mats at each transition are changed and cleaned on schedule, which keeps the grit that comes in on carts and shoes at the door.
Schedules that fit a 24/7 site.
A site that never closes needs a plan built around change windows, customer move-ins and quiet hours. Day porters cover the lobby, offices and restrooms during staffed hours, and night porters reset the dock, break room and entries when the building is at its quietest.
Inside the data hall itself, porters support your housekeeping on your procedures, removing trash and packaging only in the areas you clear them for and following your escort, badge and gowning steps.
Every porter is background-checked before a first shift, supervisors run quality inspections against your checklist, and each site receives a certificate of insurance for its vendor file. Contractor rules such as escorts, tool logs and photo restrictions go into the route from day one.
A steady porter, cleared in and backed up.
Before a first shift, your facilities lead tours our supervisor through the building and points out the access rules: which doors a porter may badge through, where an escort is needed, which rooms are off limits and where gowning starts. That walk becomes a written route, posted for the porter and shared with your security desk, so every pass follows the same order each day. The same porter works the route day after day, which means your guards and technicians see a familiar face at the mantrap instead of a stranger waiting on an escort.
Sick days and vacations do not leave the lobby uncovered. A backup porter is introduced to the route and enrolled through your contractor process ahead of time, so a Monday morning call-out never turns into a gap at the security entry. When your access list changes, or a new hall opens for move-ins, the route is updated and both porters are walked through it before the change takes effect.
What sets the price.
Data center porter coverage is priced by the porter-hour and set as a monthly plan. Lobby and office space, the number of restrooms and break rooms, dock volume, escort and gowning steps, and overnight or weekend hours shape the schedule. Our day porter pricing guide shows how those hours turn into a monthly figure.
A few useful answers
Common questions.
Do porters work inside the data hall?
Yes, on your procedures. Porters remove trash and packaging only in the areas you clear them for, with the escort, badge and gowning steps your site requires.
Can porter rounds happen during a change freeze or quiet hours?
Yes. The schedule follows your operations calendar, with dock and back-of-house passes booked into the windows you approve.
Who keeps cardboard out of the data hall?
Porters break down and remove packing material at the dock and unboxing room, so it never travels toward the white space.
What do porters cover at the security entry?
The vestibule glass, badge-reader faces, door pulls and visitor counter are wiped on each pass, and the entry mats are kept clean and dry.
Can porters cover a customer move-in day?
Yes. Extra passes go on the dock, the unboxing room and the restrooms while crates arrive, and the cardboard leaves the building the same day.
